Star signed the contract for Hebei¡¯s Provincial DTV Platform and Multi-service Transmission Platform Project. After the project is completed, the system will get the capability to meet the Province¡¯s total 5 million CATV subscribers¡¯ demands of all kinds of DTV services and data services including provincial E-Administration--- various Interactive services and Value-added services in particular. The DTV Platform consists of a provincial central platform, prefectural-level platforms and county/district-level platforms, covering eleven prefecture-level cities and all their CATV subscribers. The number of subscribers is predicted to be increased to 10 million. DTV signals started to be transmitted to subscribers in July, 2006 with a total of over 120 video/audio channels.
