A completion ceremony of the China-aided Ten Thousand Villages Project in Kenya was held at the Kinyanjui Road Primary School in Nairobi, capital city of Kenya, on Dec. 20. This meant that 800 villages and more than 16,000 households in Kenya would have free access to satellite TV services. The ceremony was attended by Wu Peng, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Hesbon Malweyi, representative of the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology of Kenya, Wang Xiaoqing, General Manager of StarTimes East Africa Region. Teachers and students of Kinyanjui Road Primary School also attended the ceremony.

Mr. Hesbon Malweyi said that China was an important business partner of Kenya and supported Kenya's development in many fields. The satellite TV system helped people acquire information necessary for decision-making in the knowledge-based economy.
