StarTimes’ first original African local movie Sincerely Daisy premieres on Star Times ST SinoDrama channel and StarTimes ON at 19:50 GMT on January 2, 2021. This is the first local African film produced by StarTimes in collaboration with local actors and production teams.

Sincerely Daisy tells a story about parent-child relationship. The 18-year-old heroine Daisy just finishes her high school and is about to go to university. But faced with the parental discipline, the choice to study in China, the frenemy friends and her ignorance to love, her life will undergo an earth-shaking changes.

Ella Maina playing the heroine of the film Daisy is the champion of the large-scale reality show Next Superstar produced by StarTimes in Kenya. The local famous movie stars Sam Senjen and Mbeki Mwalimu paly Daisy's father and mother respectively.

In the recent Kalasha Film Festival, known as the “Kenya Oscar”, Sincerely Daisy won 13 nominations including the Best Original Screenplay, Best Film, Best Sound Design, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. After fierce competition and voting by the audience, Sincerely Daisy finally won 3 major awards that is Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Music, becoming the biggest winner of this Kalasha Film Festival.
